If you change the way you look at things

If you change the way you look at things; Things you look at change.

Dear Fellow Travellers,

Do you love the thrill of crossing new paths, exploring different countries and cities? There’s an unparalleled magic in these journeys, ones that expand our horizons and fill our souls with wonder.

But amid these adventures lies the grandest voyage of all—the journey called Life.

Life, like an odyssey filled with moments of sheer happiness and peacefulness. It’s a voyage we embark upon, encountering diverse experiences, challenges, and joys that shape our very existence.

The words of my favourite author and master of self-development Dr Wayne Dyer

In the words of my favourite author and master of self-development Wayne Dyer, whose wisdom has touched countless souls, including mine:

“Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.”

Profound, isn’t it?

These words serve as my guiding light, illuminating my path through life’s twists and turns.

What do I do with his wisdom?

A few weeks ago, I was eagerly en route to an appointment that had been the highlight of my calendar for weeks. However, fate had a different plan in store.

As I cruised along the motorway, the unexpected happened—a sudden crawl of traffic, eventually going in a complete standstill that persisted for three painstaking hours.

In those moments, my heart sank as I realised the inevitable: I had missed my long-awaited appointment.

Yet, amidst the disappointment I found solace in the unexpected pause.

Instead of succumbing to anger, frustration, or stress, I chose a different perspective—a more positive one. I saw this as a little universe nudge, a gentle redirection in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps it’s a safeguard against an impending mishap or an unexpected detour guiding us towards a different destiny.

It wasn’t my destined moment to be at that appointment that day, because everything happens for a reason.

Though it meant a rescheduled appointment, weeks away, I found a silver lining in the stillness.

With a book in hand, the time wasn’t entirely wasted; it became an opportunity for unexpected moments of serenity amid the chaos. This mindset shift transformed my outlook. Rather than dwelling on what could have been, I focused on what was—gratitude for safety, warmth within the confines of my car, and genuine concern for those involved in the accident causing the delay.

Reflecting on the situation, I harboured a profound sense of gratitude—I wasn’t the one facing the adversity of an accident. Instead, I was in safety and able to extend hope and positivity to those experiencing a more challenging moment.

In the grand tapestry of life, such interruptions might seem like unwelcome intrusions. However, they often bear hidden gifts—opportunities for reflection, unexpected moments of respite, and reminders of the simple blessings that envelop us in the present.

You cannot always control what goes on outside

Dyer’s wisdom extends beyond mere observation; it delves into the profound control we hold within ourselves:

“You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside.

Future belongs to no one

How often have plans veered off course, leaving us in uncertainty? Yet, what if these deviations were part of a grander design? Embrace the calm that comes with accepting life’s intricacies, understanding that every twist and turn serves a purpose.

As we embrace this new year, let’s embark on this voyage with gratitude. Let’s recognize that within us lies the abundance of everything we truly need. We are complete, content, and in charge of our internal narratives—a narrative steeped in positivity.

Thank you, Wayne Dyer, for gifting us these transformative thoughts that resonate deeply within our hearts. Today, on this first day of January 2024, let’s set forth on our journey with gratitude and belief in the promise of every moment.

Remember, the future belongs to no one, so seize this moment and live it fully.

Yours sincerely,

Dajana
